Other works

Here are some other works and short projects that showcase my diverse knowledge.

mutabu

Mutabu is my BA Collection from the University of Lapland. It showed at Arctic Fashion Show 2016 and then became a part of my Bachelor's thesis, which focused on the design process as a model for soft systems theory.

The collection interprets the theme Arctic Carnival through physical, psychological and societal mutations. A power struggle between natural and unnatural is strongly visible, as is the balance between grotesque and beautiful. It’s an exploration of different materials and the combination of technology and clothing. This is visible in embedded LED and programmed motorised doll parts, and in the use of lab cultured bacterial cellulose.

Geni

GENI is a collection of vulva-shaped pendants and a practice brand, created during my studies at the University of Lapland. With this project I wanted to emphasize equality driven ideas and lift the importance of knowledge around vulva health and stigma. GENI is also a collaborative project between young creatives, as I worked with my fellow design students to create a design strategy and brand identity.

Trashion

Dress made of donated, found and collected buttons 2012.

An important part of my design and art practice has always been utilizing waste materials and contributing to circular economy. This is a means for me to explore sustainable techniques and to be innovative in my use of materials. I love inspirational challenges.
